Oprah has her favorite things, and so do I. One thing that I just love is when I have the opportunity to speak at colleges and universities. It’s so great to be able to interact with young people and share my perspective on issues, and to hear their views. That’s why I love this time of year. School is back in session and all of the student groups are planning their programming for the next couple of semesters. I’ve gotten calls from several campus conservative groups, some campus gay groups, and a couple of schools where the conservatives and the gays are teaming up to sponsor events. I’ve received a good number of inquiries and will be able to start announcing a few scheduled speeches soon.
This year I am planning to use my campus speeches as a way to talk about how young Americans can lead the way in building a modern conservative coalition that can win. I’ve spent my career working at the intersection of culture and politics, and the crossroads that the conservative movement finds itself at now is right there – many Americans think that conservatives are out of touch with culture so they don’t think that conservative policies are based in reality. Conservatives need help, and I can’t wait to get out there to talk with young people about my vision for the path forward.
My calendar is just now coming together and there is still opportunity to schedule speaking engagements for the fall and spring semesters. Please email my friends at SalientMG if you are interested in having me come to speak on your campus. You can reach them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
